Building an A Team
Our Ally team is growing to better serve the evolving needs of our community. Your support makes it all possible.

The Sierra Nevada Ally is a nonprofit organization that relies on community support to operate. It’s why we’re asking you to give now during our year-end fundraising campaign, where your donations (up to $1,000) are matched by our partners at NewsMatch.
A note from Executive Editor Noah Glick:
Since our founding in 2020, the Sierra Nevada Ally has been a small and scrappy group of intrepid reporters, writers, and photographers doing good work and sharing high-quality news and information to help inform our communities.
This year, we took a major step toward shredding that “small and scrappy” label, by growing our team, welcoming our first intern, and expanding our coverage capabilities.
Let us show you how.
When the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session kicked off in February, Alex Couraud was there as the Ally’s first dedicated civics reporter. Alex later took over as the Ally’s Multimedia Director, where she now oversees our growing social media presence while still reporting on critical cultural and civics issues.
This summer, the Ally also welcomed its first intern. Daisy Gomez joined the team as a community reporting intern, thanks to support from the National Hispanic Journalists Association, and boosted her skills with expert guidance from our team, while producing several multimedia stories highlighting the people in our region.
Hannah Truby took on a bigger role this year, and now sits in the Managing Editor chair. Her hard work as a reporter and photographer continues, but she’s now using her expertise to help us advance our editorial success into 2026.
We are thrilled about our growth this year, and it’s only possible thanks to your support. Your financial contributions will go a long way toward helping us pay our team what they’re worth and evolve our work to better serve you.
We’re building the right team. Your support makes it possible.
