Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. Since 2010, we have advocated for passage of carbon fee and dividend legislation, which has resulted in the introduction of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act in each Congress since 2018. This bill surpassed 80 House of Representative cosponsors in January 2020.
Our consistently respectful, nonpartisan approach to climate education is designed to create a broad and sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political perspectives. By building upon shared values and empowering our supporters to work toward the improvement of their local communities, we work towards the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable climate change solutions.
There are two CCL chapters in Northern Nevada, one in Carson City and one in the Reno/Sparks area. Both have been active since 2015. There is also a chapter in Las Vegas. There are many ways to get involved with CCL, like attending a monthly chapter meeting, grassroots outreach, or joining CCL volunteers for a meeting with your member of Congress. To find out more about the Reno/Sparks chapter, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or go to https://citizensclimatelobby.org/ to learn more about Citizens Climate Lobby and connect with a chapter near you.
