The Donald J. Trump Justice Complex? Lyon County to Consider Naming Justice Center after 45th President

On Thursday August 5, the Lyon County Board of Commissioners will consider naming the Justice Complex in Yerington, Nevada the Donald J. Trump Justice Complex. 

In the proclamation, the commissioners acknowledge that Donald J. Trump was the 45th President of the United States and that the commission has the authority to name buildings.

The reasons cited in the proclamation for honoring Trump are many. The first is regarding judicial appointments.

“The Lyon County Board of Commissioners recognizes that President Donald J. Trump significantly reduced federal judicial vacancies by appointing three Supreme Court Justices, fifty four judges to the various Court of Appeals, One hundred Seventy four Judges to the various Court of Appeals, One hundred Seventy four Judges to the various United State District Courts and three Judges to the United States Court of International Trade.”

The commissioners cite Trump’s immigration policies as justification for renaming the Justice Center in his honor.

“The Lyon County Board of Commissioners recognizes that President Donald J. Trump worked diligently to secure our borders to protect the citizens of the United States and fully enforced the immigration laws of the United States.”

The final “Whereas” of the proclamation honors Trump for shutting down human trafficking around the world and more.

“The Lyon County Board of Commissioners recognizes that President Donald J. Trump ended asylum fraud, shut down human smuggling traffickers, and solved the humanitarian crisis across the Western Hemisphere.“

The five-member Lyon County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday August 5, 2021.
