Economic Development in Fort McDermitt, NV – a conversation with tribal chairman Tildon Smart

by Brian Bahouth

The Fort McDermitt Paiute Shoshone Reservation is a tiny sovereign nation on the Oregon/ Nevada border. A remote location where most tribal residents live along the Quinn River, a twisting  corridor of green that emanates from the Santa Rosa Mountains. US Census data is spotty and potentially inaccurate, so on this edition of the Wild Hare, in an effort to better understand life on the reservation, we spoke with tribal chairman Tildon Smart.
