In 2018, Koble ran the third most successful Democratic effort to win the seat never held by a Democrat. Despite losing to incumbent Republican Mark Amodei by a 58 to 42 percent margin, Koble ran the most cost efficient effort to win the 39 year old district that encompasses the northern third of Nevada. This time Koble has more help, greater name recognition and hopes to win his party’s nomination to run for the only one of Nevada’s four congressional seats not currently held by a Democrat.
