Truckee River just past peak flow, kayakers frolic

by Brian Bahouth

Reno – The Truckee river is full, cold and moving fast, and even though it is now on the gradual, seasonal decline in its flow rate from the peak around April 9, the Whitewater Park in downtown Reno and the Truckee River in general is a destination for kayakers across the west at this time of year. Every day this week boaters played in the curls on either side of Wingfield Park.

John Garee and Jenna Stehney played in the Truckee River on the south side of Wingfield Park.
